I think we would all agree that a well done practical effect still takes the cake over anything even the best CGI can muster. Recent blockbuster Top Gun is evidence of that, and increasingly cheap CGI in many programs such as She Hulk is pushing the needle for action movies back towards practical effects.
Of course no action movie is complete without its requisite car chase, and through this video you can learn how cars are prepped and set up so that they can be destroyed in both the most glorious, and most practical way possible. I'd never considered the fact that of course cars don't just crunch in the perfect way when run over by a bus as we see in the first clip, but watching it happen knowing the secret might make it even cooler. I'll never be able to watch a car chase again without trying to spot and figure out all the efforts behind the scenes to make my practical effects as special as possible.
